Network Engineering Ability

As a Network Engineer, I’m a Switch Engineer first with experience in Data Center and Enterprise Environments. In routing, I have little experience (Sans adding static routes, reading tables and viewing neighborship status), a good amount of knowledge covered on The Cisco ENCOR exam and almost all knowledge covered on the CCNA. My CCNA expired in March of 2022 and I passed the exam for the JNCIA in 2021.

Automation Ability

In the Enterprise Automation realm I’ve minimally used tools like; cron, ansible and python’s pexpect module; in one case leveraging cron to spawn ansible tasks (avoiding Ansible’s cron module), and further to spawn a python task used to serialize the data collected by Ansible for future interpolation. I have also finished a course through Juniper for The JCNIA-DEVOPS Exam (Automation and Devops, Associate).

Systems Engineering Ability

I’ve worked in unix-like systems over a decade; becoming knowledgable with the GNU-coreutils, basic directory structure, package management, file permissions, bash scripting and more. I would consider myself a Jr. Linux Engineer or maybe a 1; though I’ve mentored and knowledge shared with Linux Engineers throughout my career.

Development Ability

I’m currently learning to be  efficient with Python and still  consider myself a beginner. Scripts I’ve developed for enterprise application include; template scripts for configuration and a data serialization and interpolation project started at my last long-term position. I’m currently taking a programming in python course now and have also previously taken collegiate level classes; Introduction to Programming and Introduction to Programming in C.
